AP Test in Calculus-AB
Students may claim credit upon completion of the AP Calculus AB Exam:

(1) M 408D AP Hon is specifically designed to be consistent with the Calculus AP-AB curriculum and is taught at the honors level. It skips some material AP students cover in high school and allows in depth coverage of new material. Students should also consult with their academic advisor for other calculus courses that will fulfill their degree requirements.
(2) M 408S is restricted to students in the College of Natural Sciences.
AP Test in Calculus-BC
Students may claim credit upon completion of the AP Calculus BC Exam:

Students with less than a 3 on the BC test, but with at least a 3 subscore on the AB, may claim CR for M 408K or M 408N or M 408R.
(1) M 427L AP Hon is a specially designed honors-level course. This is an upper division, advanced treatment of vector calculus. In the College of Natural Sciences, we use M 427L AP Honors for incoming students who had a perfect score on the AP Calculus BC exam to give them a challenge and an opportunity to enroll in an upper division math course their first semester. Many of these students scored 5 on AP Calculus BC prior to their senior year of high school and then went on to take additional math (that was not dual credit or dual enrollment) their senior year of high school. M 427L AP Hon covers all the mathematical content of M 427L and more. The Mathematics Department highly recommends that all departments follow the College of Natural Sciences and accept M 427L AP Honors in lieu of both M 408D/M and M 427L toward any degree requirement or prerequisite.
(2) M 408D AP Hon and M 408D will review some material covered in the Calculus BC course from high school.
